Registration

About Registration

With the exception of University Golf Leagues, all Intramural and Court Sports Registration occurs during the following scheduled times. Registration will take place at the Minneapolis Recreation Center Aquatic Lobby. The format of fall and spring intramural registration has changed. Please see the information below regarding the registration process:

League Registration Priority Dates

In order to limit congestion in the University Recreation Center, Intramural Registration takes place on 3 days at a new time from 7:00am-1:00pm. Leagues and specific time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.Registration for some of the most popular sports will open on different days, so please be sure to view the schedule below. Please note that once a league opens for registration, it will remain open until it fills (for example, indoor soccer opens on Tuesday, but will remain open for registration on Wednesday and Thursday).

Eligibility

General Eligibility

Eligibility is established by being listed on the team roster and on the scorecard when playing for that team. Participants are eligible to play on one team per league. Each league is divided into men's, women's, co-rec, and open. For more information about eligibility, download the 2008 IM Handbook at the bottom of this page.

Student Eligibility

All students paying the student service fee are eligible to participate in Intramurals/Court Sports. Any student not paying the student service fee must purchase a Rec Sports membership to remain eligible for league play.

Faculty/Staff/Alumni Eligibility

All fee paying members of the Department of Recreational Sports are eligible for Intramural/Court Sports.

Non-Affiliate Eligibility

A non-affiliate is a person that has no affiliation with the University of Minnesota. Non-affiliates may ONLY participate on Co-Rec teams that have paid the non-affiliate fee ($25) during registration. All non-affiliates must be at least 18 years of age. The number of non-affiliate participants allowed per Co-Rec roster is as follows:

NOTE: Non-Affiliates are only permitted during summer leagues.

Get ahead of the game! Fill out your Intramural rosters early. These rosters will be handed in at Intramural registration from September 15-17. For questions about completing Intramural rosters, please contact the Intramural office at (612) 625-8094.
