Welcome to the 2010 Tri-U-Mah! website. This year's event will take place on February 7, 2010 at the University Recreation Center.
REGISTER HERE (Opens on October 12, 2009)
Registration for individual participants is now full! A limited amount of team registrations are still available. To register as a team, contact Annette Biggs at biggs010@umn.edu.
Don't want to do the whole race? Have a friend that may only want to participate in one portion? Try us out! The Tri-U-Mah! Indoor Triathlon will be offering one heat (7:25am) for teams in 2010. Teams can consist of two or three participants and can compete in any combination of the three portions of the race (for example, one person is permitted to swim and run if desired). Team registrations are only $75 per team. To register, contact Annette Biggs at biggs010@umn.edu.
There will be one extra heat added to the Tri-U-Mah! Indoor Triathlon in 2010 which increases the total number of spaces available to 190. This extra heat, beginning at 7:25am is reserved for teams only. Teams will need to register through Annette Biggs at biggs010@umn.edu or 612-626-3407 rather than registering online. Don't miss out on this great event!
The Tri-U-Mah! Indoor Triathlon consists of 30 minute swimming, biking, and running sections. Participants will have 30 minutes to complete each individual section.
Participants will be charged a $55 (tax and online processing fee not included) non-refundable registration fee.
The 2010 Tri-U-Mah! Indoor Triathlon will take place in the University Aquatic Center (Dorothy L. Shepard Natatorium) and the University Recreation Center. These facilities are connected, so participants will cross into the University Recreation Center to reach the next section of the triathlon. For directions and parking information, visit the Aquatic page.
Participants are required to provide their own equipment such as swim suits, caps, and biking and running shoes. Refreshments and towels will be provided.
Heats will consist of 10 participants. Each heat will have 10 minutes of transition time from swim/bike and bike/run sections.
Since the amount of time spent on each section is identical for each participant (30 minutes per section), champions are determined by total distance traveled. Volunteers will record the total laps (swimming) and miles (biking and running) completed during the event. The total distance traveled will determine the champions for each age group. In addition to individual age group champions, there will be an overall male and female Tri-U-Mah! champion. To see previous champions, view the Results section below.
Age groups are listed below. Each age group is divided into male and female sections. Prizes, courtesy of Run N FunĀ®, are awarded for overall and category winners based distance traveled. To see previous champions, view the Results section below.
We are currently seeking sponsors for the 6th annual Tri-U-Mah! indoor triathlon. For information on opportunities available, please contact Annette Biggs, Race Director, at biggs010@umn.edu.
